Youth Basketball League

Join the City of Ojai Recreation Department this winter for our Youth Basketball League, open to boys and girls in 2nd through 8th grade. This program welcomes players of all skill levels and focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, game rules, and the importance of sportsmanship and fair play—all while having fun!

Our goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where kids can grow both on and off the court. Participants will learn how to compete positively while building skills that go beyond basketball, with a strong emphasis on respect, responsibility, leadership, and teamwork.

Important Information

Registration CLOSED (Season: Winter/Spring 2026)

Register online via Program Registration, by phone at (805) 646-5581 ext. 390, by email at ojairec@ojai.ca.gov, or in person at 510 Park Road, Ojai.

Registration Deadline: November 21st, 2024 (or until league is full).
Head Coaches will contact parent/guardian after Player Evaluations. If you haven't heard from your coach before the first practice, please email lei.talaro@ojai.ca.gov.
Practice times and locations are set by coaches.
Game Jerseys are provided by the first game and must be returned on the last day of games.
Games are held at the John G. Martin Gymnasium, 510 Park Rd. and/or Matilija Gymnasium, 703 El Paseo Rd.
Game Schedules will be shared before the first game.
All coaches and assistants must complete background checks to volunteer in this league.
Schedule Update: To help avoid late games, all 5th/6th Grade Boys Division games will take place on Sundays between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

Volunteer Coaches Needed (Winter/Spring 2026)

We’re looking for volunteer coaches to help make this season a success! If you’re interested in supporting, please contact lei.talaro@ojai.ca.gov. Each division requires a minimum of 4 head coaches. Some basketball knowledge, a positive attitude, and a passion for working with kids are all you need. Your support will help create a fun and competitive league for our players!
